Ugo (pronounced Oo-go) Nze obtained his MS andPh.D. in Mechanical engineering in 2021 from the University of Utah. His research focused on the separation, isolation and detection of pathogens embedded in complex food and water matrices. Outside of research, Ugo has also led two different chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers, organized STEM outreach events and mentored several junior scientists/engineers. After his PhD, Ugo joined BD’s technology leadership development program and has since been expressing his passion for improving worldwide health outcomes through science and technology.
